The art of marbling has been around for centuries, in Japan and Turkey, gradually making its way across Europe and to the Americas. The pattern is made by dropping paint on a carrageenan bath using droppers or whisks, then combing in various directions. A print is taken by carefully lowering the piece of paper onto the surface of the bath. Although a master marbler can create extremely similar patterns and colours, no two pieces are ever alike, making the sheet a one of a kind work of art!
